Of-com regulates TV and radio.

Three types of radio types are Community, PSB, and commercial. PSB Stands for public service radio.

The difference between commercial and community is that commercial relies on advertising to make money. while PSB and community rely on licence fees.

The radio station the archers fits perfectly into the BBC remit 'to inform, to educate, to entertain', the radio type of the BBC is a PSB radio stations relying on licence fees to generate wealth and have a steady income. The Archers fit to informing because the topic of the archers which is farming, is a mature subject that people can get used to that are very mature. The Archers also informs people on sexual violence/ domestic violence like with the #FREEHELEN campaign and how much of a serious topic it is and how to alert people about it.  The archers is also set in real life events and the way that they present the serious topics.

The Archers links to The BBC remit part 'to educate' by making the show about something and set somewhere not many people would know or live in. it also is set in 1951 post war and farm life, Examples of this in the Archers are when they talk about domestic violence and farm life. it links to the BBC remit by educating the audience by talking about subjects not many people know about.

BBC radio 4 broadcasts the Archers.

The audience for the Archers are women aged 20-44 upper middle class. ABC1 female

Two ways that the archers is aimed at women is that the stories are over a long period of time and follow strong female characters. like joy
