LO: to explore thew aims and conventions of film posters

- create awareness and hype for the film and to sell tickets to see the film

- title, actors, tagline, date of release, logos, studio name, nominations or awards for the film if have
- a teaser poster is designed to create interest for the film and start an early marketing campaign, whilst a theatrical poster provides details and more understanding of the film.

LO: TO ANALYSE THE FILM POSTER SET TEXTS EFFECTIVELY
James bond stereotype words: serious, smart.
NTTD was released on the 30th September 2021, Daniel Craig is the actor for James Bond. the film was produced by EON and distributed in uk cinemas by universal pictures. it is available to stream on amazon prime. the films budget is 250m-301m. the film was designed by emperor designs.
NTTD cover:
Main image - variation of male and female characters. Gender equality in terms of amount of representation. larger figures are male, this indicates that they are the main characters. women are in more revealing clothes. this suggests that they are being sexualised and objectified.
Credit block - 007, the fame of the character spanning over 60 years over the fame of the actor. mentions the production and distribution companies.
Mise en scene - actors wearing sophisticated suits. smart, mature, facial expressions are serious, serious film. setting - neon lights of a city. outdoor rural setting mountain. car setting, fire and action, car chase.

FILM POSTER AND REPRESENTATION
LO: to analyse the film poster for key representations.

Mise en scene: the clothing of females in NTTD are varieties. on the cover of NTTD, there are two women that are dressed in the opposite way. one is dressed like a spy with a gun in her hands,. this goes against the stereotype of women's clothing. whilst the other girl on the poster is wearing a revealing dress. this supports the stereotype of women wearing revealing clothing . this also supports the male gaze theory. this shows that some women featured in this film are strong and are independent. but also women are sexualised in the film.
- Nomi being the new 007 was reported prior to the films release, it led to a minority of racists trolling the actor online. lashana Lynch online
- only 3 guns and not threatening in the poster as the ASA state that violence should not be glamourised.

MWTGG Film poster and media language analysis
LO: to analyse the film poster for key elements of Media language.
the stereotypes of an older bond film are men being dominant, women wearing revealing clothing and being treated as objects, sexualised women, lack of racial diversity, insensitive comments.
1973 energy crisis, causing an oil crisis. this is hinted at through the posters iconography of the power plant and the energy beam directed at Bond.
the films budget was 7 million and made 97 million making 90 million profit
to reflect popularity of martial arts genre. there were several kung fu scenes and the film was predominantly filmed in Asia

- they have used a montage of images to create the effect that it is an action film with non stop events. e.g. car chases, guns, explosions
- the dominant centre image of James Bond on the movie cover holds many connotations, his facial expression looks serious and strong. his suit is showing that he is important and is more important than everyone else on the cover. the gun shows violence and protection.

- who has the golden gun. how Bond behaves in the film. does he win?

PROPP CHARACTERS IN THE FILM POSTER:
- james Bond - hero
the images shown in the film poster (MWTGG) shows different images on the poster of different characters. for example, the characters are on there. the important characters like James Bond. and other characters like the two women next to bond and someone with a gun aiming it at bond. but he can also see that the person with the golden gun which we cannot see is aiming it at James bond. this leaves it as a mystery to who actually owns the golden gun.
